Sure. We monsters were once almost like you. Just a normal, mild-mannered scientist working on an invention to save the world. But when the experiment went wrong and we developed super powers, for some reason, inexplicable to even us, we got angry and pissed off.
Yesterday, we wanted to save the world, but today we want to destroy it.
Seems logical to us.
