Happy Death Day, Edgar

On October 7, 1849, the soul of Edgar Allan Poe left this world forever.

(We like to believe he went on to a better place, like the Bermuda Triangle.)

But the spirit of Poe’s works have lived on. Today, 163 years later on the anniversary of his death, he is a celebrated author, critic, cosmologist, and cryptographer.

We could go on about Poe’s mastery and influence for pages. Instead, we will direct you to the man on the screen below, himself a master of the macabre, and familiar of Poe’s.

Here is Vincent Price reading “The Raven.”
