To play the game, just follow SML on Twitter (@monsterstuff) or Facebook (facebook.com/stuffmonsterslike), solve our riddles, find the VHS tapes with money hidden inside, and claim your cash. Take a photo of yourself with your found prize and tweet or post the image with the hashtags #avlcash and #HugAMonsterDay.

We will begin to post clues around noon, so hurry and follow us on Facebook and Twitter! Click here for more info about today’s treasure hunt.

Hug A Monster Day Photo Contest

Guess which one hissed at the other? Grumpy Cat and the Bride, July 27, 2013

SML is looking for this year’s best Hug A Monster Day photos! Big monsters, small monsters, some eating your head – we want to see them all! Send your Hug A Monster Day photos by August 1st. Email them to stuffmonsterslike@gmail.com or post them to our Facebook page. We’ll pick our favorite photo and post it to SML on August 4th. You’ll even get a prize!

Click here for more info about the annual photo contest.

Intergalactic Hug A Monster Day takes place on July 27 every year. It is a day to show appreciation to all the monsters in our lives. Take your favorite monster (toy) with you to work, school, or play. Show it off. Amaze your friends. Baffle your boss. Frighten your psychiatrist. Hugging your favorite mutant may be the best feeling you have all day.

Because monsters are people too.

Hug A Monster Day 2014 is sponsored by the Monster Island Tourism Board. Looking for the perfect accessory to give on Hug a Monster Day? Visit our gift shop for great deals and big squeals.

Our monster mascots help us with our evil schemes, as well as taking care of chores around the mansion. From writing press releases to collaborating on blog posts, this blog would not exist without them.
