We are giving away free cash this Sunday to help celebrate Intergalactic Hug A Monster Day. To play the game, just follow SML on Twitter (@monsterstuff) or Facebook (facebook.com/stuffmonsterslike), solve our riddles, and run to claim your cash.
We will start releasing clues early Sunday afternoon to the money’s whereabouts around the city of Asheville, NC, and the first participant to find each prize gets to keep it. It’s that simple! All the money will be stashed inside old horror VHS movie tapes and hidden in public areas around town.
When you follow the clues and find a tape full of money, let us know! Take a photo of yourself with your found prize – hugging it in honor of Hug A Monster Day, if you’d like – and tweet or post the image with the hashtags #avlcash and #HugAMonsterDay. What you do with the money after that is your business, but we encourage you to pay it forward to someone else in the community.

Intergalactic Hug A Monster Day is a galaxy-wide holiday that takes place every year on July 27. It is a day to show appreciation to all the good monsters in our lives. It is the only holiday that asks you to find your old monster toys and give them hugs. Hugging your favorite mutant may be the best feeling you have all day. Because monsters are people, too.
